UW CORAL Web Front End

Modes of Operation

Aside from the default "normal" mode described in this documentation, UW CORAL can be directed to run certain special tasks at startup, if the URL includes the mode parameter, e.g., if it ends with ?mode=lite it will load in a mobile-friendly mode. As of this writing, the available modes include:

mode=attribution
Display the attribution field of the specified lab and exit.
mode=chemical-request
Shows the chemical request form as if the user had pressed the New Chemical Request button on the Safety>Chemical Requests tab.
mode=disable
Show the instrument disable dialog. Intended to be run from an instrument.
mode=enable
Enable the instrument with the given parameters, as if the user had pressed the Enable button. Intended to be run from an instrument.
mode=enter-location
Display the location scan-in screen.
mode=gimme
Show the same display as the Lab>Subscriptions tab.
mode=inventory-kiosk
Displays an interface specialized for selling inventory to users, intended to be used as an inventory kiosk.
mode=lite
Open the lite interface, intended to provide limited functionality for users of mobile devices.
mode=lock-enabled
Similar to mode=disable, but locks the instrument while still enabled.
mode=mass-login
Present an interface allowing users scanned in to a location to enable and disable equipment in a related location with a single click. Intended to allow minimal-touch access to wet bench login.
mode=publications-list
Display a list of all recorded publications.
mode=quiz
Opens the quiz, whose ID is specified with the quiz parameter. See Definitions>Quiz.
mode=qual
Display a qualification form for the given qual protocol, allowing the user to entar qual data without any additional context.
mode=register
Reloads UW CORAL into the registration system.
mode=unlock-enabled
Unlock or disable the equipment depending on parameters. Intended to be run from the instrument itself.
mode=update-enabled
Update the user's billing to the given parameters. Intended to be run from the instrument itself.
mode=user-recertification
Displays the annual user recertification system used by certain labs.
mode=visitor-request
Shows the visitor request form as if the user had pressed the New Visitor Request button on the Users>Visitor tab. (Note that while ordinary users do not see the Users tab at all, they can use mode=visitor-request.)
