The inactive projects list displays projects on which no work has occurred for a certain length of time (by default, one year).
To display the list, select a lab and press Search.
There is no way to "stay" the deactivation of a project. If a project is special enough that it should never be deactivated, it can be marked "Keep Alive" using the Users>Project tab.
