Qualify

The Qualify tab allows staff members and users with the Instructor role to give users roles on equipment. Member names can be entered, one per line, and a role selected. As each name is entered another line will appear. When the OK button is pressed, all of the listed users will be granted the specified roles.

It is possible that granting a role to a user might fail, perhaps because the user is not (or is no longer) a lab user, or because they are missing one or more hazard training roles. The special entry -check- in the role drop-down does not grant the user any role, but merely checks lab policy to determine whether they can be granted any equipment role. For labs with hazard requirements, it is prudent to use this mechanism to check whether this user has had all the required general training before going through instrument-specific training, only to discover that the user can't be qualified after all.
