The Differential tab shows users who have one role, optionally excluding those who hold another role. It can be used for checking conformance of optional training, seeing how users are coming along in registration, migrating users from one instrument to another, or testing how much of an instrument's user base is shared with another instrument.
Lab and With are mandatory fields, describing the facility to be used for context and the role to be filtered on, respectively. The optional Without field provides a role whose holders will be removed from the results. If "Include Billing?" is checked, the results will show each user's default Project and Account as well, but excludes users whose billing is not valid in that lab.
Within search results, you can press Terminate to terminate the role shown in With; press Terminate project membership to remove the user from that project; or Deactivate user to deactivate the user in the specified lab. Both terminate options take effect immediately but can be undone until the page is reloaded.
The button bar above the search results allows actions that can be applied to all results. Expire all removes the With role from all of them at a date specified by the user; Grant Temp Role allows another role to be granted with an expiration date set some time in the future. The other buttons should be self-explanatory.
